i hear the bells.

I’m not doing so good making this a weekly thing, but not much has happened really…

Scholarship

I have FINALLY finished this. It should not have taken so long, but that’s what happens when you procrastinate. Now, I’ve gotten some awesome references from Georgina and Sabrina and so it’s looking totally awesome! I really dislike writing about myself though… Handing it in tomorrow!

UoC application

Speaking of procrastination, I was neglecting this for a while, seeing as there was some error, but that’s fixed now. Had a scare the other day though, when it told me that the housing window had been closed. It turned out there was just a technical error, so I can breathe again!

Still writing up my (min.) 300 words, which is proving to be interesting. I’m not exactly sure what kind of things we’re supposed to be writing, but I just do what I can.

Also, thanks to Steven, there’s nothing that we have to send off to Kate.

BUILD

Application for this was done and submitted. I actually received an SMS confirming receipt of my application, and that results will be released next week. So, fingers crossed!

Exchange and Study Abroad Club

I joined up with ESAC at O-Day and the first event is on Thursday! Hopefully Steven and I can suss out who else is going to UoC, because it would be good to get to know them before we go.

Travel research

This has been kind of fun, going around to travel agents and stuff and making enquiries about flight quotes and picking up lots of brochures. It’s making me really excited about all the places that I could potentially go to, but I don’t think I’m being so realistic about time and travel and stuff.

All of this venturing into travel agents has made me appreciate the ‘good’ ones. Dad and I went to Escape Travel at Hornsby Westfield, and the people there were really friendly, and genuinely so. It makes you feel so much more comfortable and accepting of what they say. Compared to, say, a particular student-focused travel agent that I went to at Town Hall Square, where it seemed like they were just out to get their extra commissions by recommending their preferred airlines.

But I digress. In terms of flights, there isn’t much difference if I’m determined to travel by SIA, so we’ll see about that…

I really have to draw up a list of the cities that I really want to go to around Europe, and think about how feasible it would be, how much it would cost etc etc. All the bus tours and train tickets seem to cost way too much, and seem to last for more time than I’ll have… Most people have said that cheap flying is probably the best option… Hmmm…

Everything gets more and more exciting every day. =) Except for…

Savings

I keep second guessing everything now when it comes to spending on things. I mean, I should save as much as I can so I can get the best out of my going overseas, and like, actually have a roof over my head and food to eat! It just kind of sucks sometimes, but hopefully SF works out!!

Next post will probably end up being a month later, at the rate I’m going!
